Changing the Script
Once upon a time I could enjoy a wedding ceremony. But now, thanks to my feminist sixth sense, I’ve grown increasingly frustrated when I attend these affairs. As I’m ushered to a seat, I still secretly hope that this one will be different – this one will blow my expectations out of the water by keeping the semblance of tradition while changing the sexist language and calling attention to the institution’s troubled past.
